Reflections under the Dragonfly (Weekend Reflections #43)

Malyss said she was curious to see what was on the other side of the bridge in my Weekend Reflections #41 post. There was a dragonfly on a branch that was sticking out of the water. I opened up the aperture and zoomed in as much as I could. I like the look of the sun reflecting on the water beneath the dragonfly.

Gorgeous! Great bokeh, and wonderful color on the dragonfly. I find the blue ones very hard to capture accurately. Nice job!

What an excellent shot. You really nailed that one! Love the sparkles in the background and the detail on the dragonfly is just superb. The wings look like lace and the body and eyes look like gems. It's easy to see from this shot how beautiful these creatures truly are!

This is an awesome macro James! And I love the glittering reflections on the water too — pretty spheres!

The dragonfly features are enhanced with the enlargement and the sun's reflection making circles on the water is just the perfect background for the picture.

I like the look too James. Dragonflies are neat creatures. The only time I see them is when they're whizzing past. One of these days I'll catch one resting like you have.

I love it! Hardly do I see orange ones. The photo as a whole looks like fantasy land!

What an amazing shot...beautiful dragonfly and background.

I have always admired the beautiful iridescence of the dragonfly. I often swam in a little creek when I was a kid and if one of these lit nearby I would hold very still just to marvel at the color. You captured it.

I'm speechless, so I'll just go with the consensus here—wow!

Why did the photographer cross the bridge? I'll tell you why; to get an absolutely stunning photo of a dragonfly with a bonus background of a reflection!

Your dragonfly is simply gorgeous. I've been spotting them but can get no where the details in my photos.

I love a great dragon fly photo and this one sure qualifies. The bokeh is excellent. Even though I'm not an official player in the "Weekend Reflections" I have an extremely unique reflection on my blog today.

I couldn't find the comments link in your newer post!

I just wanted to say that I like how the reflection looks sun-dappled too, because of the water.
