Malyss said she was curious to see what was on the other side of the bridge in my Weekend Reflections #41 post. There was a dragonfly on a branch that was sticking out of the water. I opened up the aperture and zoomed in as much as I could. I like the look of the sun reflecting on the water beneath the dragonfly.

James! This is such a gorgeous photo!
What beautiful bokeh! This is very nice! You found something extraordinary on the other side of that bridge.
Excellent macro! And an interesting reflection of the sun on the water.
WOW! Have not much else to say. Just gorgeous James.
I love it! The bokeh is fabulous.
This is great, James!
This has to be the most beautiful dragonfly I've ever seen! I'm so glad you took the time to 'look under the bridge'!
Oh James, every part of this photo is just magical!
An incredible image, James! The detail is amazing.

That is really different and unique James. Not your average reflection shot, but great nonetheless.

Oh my goodness James, this is stunning!

Super super shot James - lovely bokeh!
Mine's on Round The Bend this week.
I'm glad to have asked the question! :)
This picture is more than marvellous, it's magic!
That could not have been easy - congratulations!
magnifique bokeh,bravo, j'adore
That looks very strange as if the fly would play with balls !
Absolutely stunning. You need to frame this one for sure!
Gorgeous! Great bokeh, and wonderful color on the dragonfly. I find the blue ones very hard to capture accurately. Nice job!
Wonderful photo!
Brilliant shot, James!
Magnifico James.
Brilliant shot! I have been chasing dragonflies today and had a few unsharp photos...
What an incredibly beautiful photo. I am in awe--and this fills my eyes, which is the greatest compliment I can give. Thank you for sharing this one, James.
Mesmerizing and amazing!
Have a wonderful weekend James.

A magical photo, James.
The whole photo is like a little glimpse of a magically romantic world!
Nice dragonfly capture but the little lights in the background make it a special photo.
That is a beautiful, magical picture.
Awesome shot, James!
wow - macro reflections!
I love this dragonfly!
Ciao,
questo dragonfly è mereaviglioso !
felice fine settimana :-))
Great photo...wonderful sparkling effect. Beautiful.
What an excellent shot. You really nailed that one! Love the sparkles in the background and the detail on the dragonfly is just superb. The wings look like lace and the body and eyes look like gems. It's easy to see from this shot how beautiful these creatures truly are!
You were lucky to capture this shot, I too like the water reflecting.
Uh, James - there's something about this that bugs «Louis»...
Gorgeous shot of the dragonfly, James! The reflections are pretty.
This is an awesome macro James! And I love the glittering reflections on the water too — pretty spheres!
The dragonfly features are enhanced with the enlargement and the sun's reflection making circles on the water is just the perfect background for the picture.
I like the look too James. Dragonflies are neat creatures. The only time I see them is when they're whizzing past. One of these days I'll catch one resting like you have.
I love it! Hardly do I see orange ones. The photo as a whole looks like fantasy land!
awesome shot!
I love dragonflies and that is a fantastic picture!
What an amazing shot...beautiful dragonfly and background.
I have always admired the beautiful iridescence of the dragonfly. I often swam in a little creek when I was a kid and if one of these lit nearby I would hold very still just to marvel at the color. You captured it.
I'm speechless, so I'll just go with the consensus here—wow!
really! me too!
LOVE this James!
I wish I had a card with this image on it.
Fantastic reflections of a beautiful dragonfly.
Amazing macro!
This is really beautiful.
Great shot! Next week I´ll try my own reflection picture from my country, Argentina
Greetings.
Elisa
Absolutely lovely! Dragonflies are such amazing creatures and very efficient hunters.
That is an incredible photo. I like it both because it's a super macro shot and I have always loved backgrounds in shots such as this.
Words for what..... beautiful!
what a bokeh James! - the little dragonfly is fabulous but I'm in awe at the background.
I'm really late joining the meme this weekend........ holiday time here. :) Rosie
My entry is at the Centre of Interest photoblog
beautiful!
I'm not sure which I like more the fabulous green color on the dragonfly, or the background...
Marvelous. I love dragonfly close-ups.
Thank you.
Have a nice day!
A beautiful reflection!
Why did the photographer cross the bridge? I'll tell you why; to get an absolutely stunning photo of a dragonfly with a bonus background of a reflection!
Your dragonfly is simply gorgeous. I've been spotting them but can get no where the details in my photos.
Wow, what a gorgeous photo!
Looks like there are quite a few suns being reflected... out of this world...
This is a beautiful image in so many ways...
What can I say now that no one else has said? Perfect!
I love a great dragon fly photo and this one sure qualifies. The bokeh is excellent. Even though I'm not an official player in the "Weekend Reflections" I have an extremely unique reflection on my blog today.
I couldn't find the comments link in your newer post!
I just wanted to say that I like how the reflection looks sun-dappled too, because of the water.
