A Troll's view (Weekend Reflections # 42)

This is different type of bridge reflection. I was under the bridge taking pictures of this reflection when I heard a couple walking and talking on the bridge above me. I was reminded of the stories that I heard as a boy about trolls under bridges. This time it was only me trolling for reflections. With the exception of the leaves in the top left corner and some floating patches of algae every thing in this photo is a reflection on the water. I turned it upside down because I think it looks better this way.

Beautiful capture! Those floating algae look like floating islets!

So what were they saying?!
Just kidding.
It's too bad the "real" trolls never had cameras. :)
Great shot and imagination, James.

So very cool, James! So you are a troll now...HA! It almost looks like you were under water shooting up. See what turning it upside down does to me! I like this. You have blue sky...we haven't seen blue sky in days and days. Maybe today will be better...June Gloom at its NOT so finest!

What a beautiful reflection, James!

I was trying to figure what was being reflected when I found out that the whole picture is actually a reflection! Turning a picture up-side-down is such an ingenious idea.

I like the algae(?)... It makes the photo looked scarred...

The photo creates a feeling that earthy landscapes are floating in water worlds! A beautiful shot!

Hmmm… you seem to be in a children's stories roll this week. First the crooked house, now this. :D

I just love how creative you are with your reflection photos! I don't think I would ever have thought of doing anything like this on my own. Fantastic result, including the algae!

Don't talk about «Louis'» Congresscritter that way!

See you again Sunday.

FE, FI, FO, FUM, I smell the blood of an Englishman!

Oh wait. That's the wrong fairy tale!

Anyway, I like the idea of you being the troll, even if it were for only a few minutes AND you were a a NICE troll!

Excellent reflection, too!

great idea James! though I did have to imagine what it would look like upside down. A great shot either way I think.
Have a great weekend.

Fortunately you gave some explanations, I was looking for the reflection, it's so perfect !

Fun perspective... looks like you're shooting up out of the water. DO you have Scandinavian background? I didn't think too many American children heard about trolls.

Fred Miller said...

Like Diane and some others, I thought you were underwater with a $50K camera. You actually have to get involved to view this shot. It's kind of like a Hitchcock movie.

cieldequimper said...

Oh non James, you haven't become a troll, have you?!! Love this!

This is just great, James!

Looks like you're looking up at the bridge from under the water! Very cool photo :D

Such vibrant summer colors! You just reminded me that it's good to change perspective from time to time and learn to see the world anew. Sometimes being upended can be an opportunity for learning.

Looks great up or upside down, James. Enjoy your frequent creative touches with perspective!

Great shot! And I know about the fairytail too!

Your bridge shot is awesome and the story fun.
