Floral Reflection (Weekend Reflections # 45)

At first glance were you able to tell that this is a reflection? Look again. With the exception of some tiny things floating on the water this is all a reflection. It looks like I even captured the reflections of some shadows on the leaves if that's possible. :)
I turned this photo upright for better viewing.

You did it - you tricked me!!!

I really had to look twice at this one!

What a wonderful clear and stunning reflection!!!

Very tricky. I didn't notice the reflection until you pointed out the tiny ripples. Fun.

This is so perfect I had to read the post to be sure it was a reflection! :-) Fantastic!

By the way this is my favourite canna species (Bengal tiger), I keep it in a big pot.

Wow, that took a minute to realize. Very cool.

Lovely shot James. You get hints of the reflecting character from the bottom of the image. You can barely detect the water surface but it's there. This reflection is so rich and saturated with color.

Terrific capture, James! I had to look twice to see the water! Incredible! And so colorful! Thanks, as always, for the weekly fun! Enjoy your weekend!

Thats a stunner of a reflection James this week - and the colour of the flowers is still strong in the reflection.

James I placed the wrong link in Mr Linky - could you delete my first link as it takes folk to a macro post rather than a reflection post.

Many thanks

You have such clear water for your reflections! No hint of the bottom of the pond.

That is such a clear reflection with so many details - nice!

I didn't think it was a reflection at first until I read your post. It's beautiful James. Those things that are floating look almost like they could be birds in the sky!

Malyss said...

At first sight, I thought there were a lot of birds in the sky..:)
I can't imagine how pure the water can be to offer such a reflection!! good job!

Carolyn Ford said...

That is amazing! It looks like the real deal...The colors are so true and not the last washed out from light reflecting off the water surface. Wow, James!

It is such a perfect mirror image I couldn't tell it was a reflection at all.
Great photo, James.

Pretty darn amazing reflection. You'd think the surface was a mirror and not just water. Great!

Beautiful reflections - you rarely see such detail and strong colours.

You are absolutely amazing! Had you not said anything about the tiny water spots, I would have considered this photo a mental reflections photo! Beautiful reflections!

That is one stupendous reflection, James. Bravo.

I wish more writers were like you photographers. It's not what you see that makes your observations interesting. It's the way you see it.

So clever and interesting:) Great sharp photo!

I've never seen such a clear reflection James! I know you stay true to your theme but I actually sped on to reading just actually what the image was reflected upon. I thought you might have carried a mirror out into the field. Beautiful and fresh.

Outstanding, James.

Wonderful, so clear! Summer in the air...

I think it's just the wind blowing some debris through the air, and you mixed this up with another photo ?! Clearest reflection I ever saw... nice job sir...

Without your explanation, I doubt I would have figured out it was a reflection. Except, of course, that it's on Weekend Reflections, so it would have to be. Right?

dianasfaria.com said...

I don't think I would have noticed this was a reflection if you hadn't told me but there is something very different about this photo. It definitely has a very fluid feel to it.
& It is quite beautiful!

It took a moment to realize it was all a reflection, the water is so clear. Beautiful!

Molto bella l'immagine ripresa in questo modo.
Mi piace questi fiori così rossi.
Buona giornata a tutti i bloggers.

Having that clear reflection turned gives us a unique perspective of those flowers. We have those flowers here - I have no idea what they are called - but I've not been able to capture them in any interesting way, they're a bit of a messy flower, I think. But now you've done it. Super.

Kaori said...

I couldn't tell this was a reflection until I read your post! It's amazing how you caught all those vibrant colors in a reflection :D

GreensboroDailyPhoto said...

Didn't think what I posted today qualified as a reflection, but I miss you guys!!!!

It is in the creativity that makes this posting significant to the theme of the meme. Yes, I can follow the lead very clear. Brilliant!

Fantastic! The water must be incredibly still to get such a clear reflection. Really love this

Ebie said...

Your photo is so deceiving! The reflection looks like an original. You really have a great eye and creativity.

Just a few ripples to let the view know, it's a reflection, Wonderfuly clean and sharp.

Carletta said...

I had to look at this one for awhile to figure it out but once I did - marvelous!
I could have sworn the reflection was the background.
Terrific shot James!

tapirgal said...

This may be my favorite reflection of all time. My first hint was the "bugs" flying around the plants. I also love the ripples around the leaves (hard to see). It's not the clarity only but the colors that put this one so high on my list. Just gorgeous!

Margaret Gosden said...

It is very deceptive and I wouldn't have noticed if you
hadn't pointed it out! I mean, it is very deceptive!!

You are right, I was looking for the reflection. Nice canna flowers. Flowers of my youth, my grand dad had them in Borneo, and now I have a small clump in New Zealand.

If you had not pointed it out I probably would not have noticed. Excellent photo!

Thanks for this idea and your comment. I like the blue sky of your picture (It's raining in Brittany, today) and this perfect reflection.

I posted a really nice reflection for Saturday and just realized I forgot to link you to it. Nuts. I plead sleep deprived. We had a busy week.

The reflection lets me astonish.

Reality. Or illusion...
I cannot tell the difference between them.
