This is a little further down the road from the last picture.
It wasn't snowing very hard but the wind was starting to pick up when I went in for a closer look at this mailbox. I bet there were a few birds that could have used it for shelter last night.
I walked a little more and onto a little one lane bridge. That's when I saw this Christmas tree hiding beside the creek. It must be a good spot because it made it through another Christmas with it's roots intact.
You might have noticed this old house in one of the pictures above. It sits beside on the other side of the creek from the Christmas tree.
I stood here for a while admiring the old house and noticed that it was built in 1831. Id love to look inside.
I walked some more and then took some shots of this old building and train tracks. I'd been cold for a while but this is when the reality of having to walk home hit me. It was really cold and I was covered in snow but even worse so was my camera and lens.
After I took some pictures of this building I stopped at Starbucks for a much needed hot chocolate. Then I finally made it home. That's when the blizzard really hit.

These are wonderful images! The mailbox is really great, and the stone house is intriguing.
It has been snowing here too, I think we have about 18" and the wind is blowing like a hurricane!

Nice sequence! I think the old house was a mill or some other industrial building. The center windows were originally doorways. I bet it has a rich history - if only the walls could talk!

What a beautyful walk! and , seen from europe,so american by the views: the wooden houses, the mailboxes , the railway, flags of course..show immediately in what country we are!Only the old stone house could be british.

I took a walk but not with my camera. I don't know why I do that cause the way the snow was swirling in the wind would have made a nice shot.
It looks like it would have been very cold and blustery where you were walking. But you got some great monochromatic shots.
Quite a story! Really nice photos. I particularly like the railroad one. I wouldn't know what to do if my lens and camera got snow all over it!
By the way, I've only been able to shoot with my new lens for a few minutes, but those few minutes were good! I'm anxious to do more.

Now that's a great selection of snow shots, but I think I wouldn't join you on your walk if I could stay in a cozy warm house... :-)))

walking in a blizzard, you reminded me of my first winter in 1975 coming from Borneo.
I didn't know it was a blizzard and walked home from the university.
I tumbled down a couple of times.
When I got home, I turned on the Tv and found out that we should all stay in doors. Whew!!!!

Thanks for the tour. I am always nervous that the cold (and damp with the snow) will ruin my camera. I had a P&S stop working after it was taken into a Ice sculpture display. When I do take mine out it is not for long!
