While standing on the Newport Beach pier, he said, "Go West, young man" and laughed. I wondered if he wanted me to jump off the end of the pier or go to Catalina Island. Then I laughed because he called me a young man. I was probably 50 when I took this picture.😄
Have a good weekend!

Love that body language!
Oh that's a great one! You were in the right place at the right moment and got a good memory and picture. Good for you!
There is no telling what he meant by quoting Horace Greeley, but this pose is perfect for your photograph. Have a great weekend, James, and Happy Thanksgiving.
Looks good but I think he had done more that pose.
Such a cool dude!
You certainly captured a good street photograph there James. Thanks for hosting and I hope you have a great week ahead,
He looks old, probably has the right to call you a young man.
drôle de personnage * et je me demande ce qu'il cache dans son sac :)
bon dimanche !
Looks like something you would see in Venice Beach!
I'm glad you posted this, James. I've been to Newport Beach but I missed this or didn't know what I was seeing.
Thank you, James.
