The Embers of the Day

I took this picture last week in Newtown. I also captured a reflection of this scene in a window so I think you will be seeing this view again someday.

This is lovely, James. Especially with the line of fairy lights under the eaves.

I like the vision of the sun melting behind the rooftops, and the sky is simply beautiful.

Beautiful silhouette of that tree, James.

I enjoyed those lights leading into the photo - always a "good thing".

PS Thank you for the comment :-)
I used a Canon 40D with a Sigma 70mm/2.8 DG. The filter was a UV-filter that I always use. They were shot in RAW and converted in PS CS4.

What a mysterious image: lights, clouds, trees and shapes of things...

Yes I really like the way the line of the roof is traced in those small lights.

Time to light the candles and snuggle up.

Hey, why did you tell us about the reflection? What about our surprise? ;-))

Woo hoo, you are at 200 followers! Congrats!

Great photo. I need to get out of the house more around sunset, I can't see it at all from our house.

I like these kinds of photos - tree outlines, house roofs and the sun setting in the distance. Very nice!

Oh yes, I can see the small glow of the stove and all the embers of the long winter day. A real story of the skies.

This would make a good Sky Watch Friday post! We look forward to seeing the reflected image.

I like the dark outlines and the brooding sky with the golden glow concentrated in the middle. The dotted lights add a spooky effect.
Cheers.
