This creepy 300 pound metal sculpture wields a large spiked mace while continually crouching in front of one of New Hope's many art galleries. Who needs a watch dog when you can have this guy guarding the place. I just wonder how many customers it's scared away. I don't know what his name is but I guess some people call him art.
Be careful not to stare into his eyes for very long. :)
This is my entry for Sistertex's "Face of the Week" meme.

Scary eyes.
will a hex be casted if you stare too long?
LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Excellent James. :)
Scary one but great art!
Gee, that IS scary... I think I'll stick to my dog, though.
WAOUHHH Impressionnant ce portrait, de quoi faire des cauchemars pendant une semaine..SUPERBE
I have tagged you for the Hershey's Better Basket Blog Hop HERE.
Ewwwww, scary!!!! Art or no art, I cannot imagine putting this awful creature in my yard!
I love the picture, I hate the subject!Too disturbing for me!
Great shot! But really, are they trying to scare their customers away :) You asked where I found my "ants". Funny, they are metal sculptures on the grounds of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center! Guess we're both a couple of "metal heads" this week! Kathy
An excellent photo. I am not one of those people calling this art.
Eeeekkkkk! scary beast:)
Freakishly cool shot!
Gosh, if his eyes don't get you, his teeth will. RUN!!
It would keep me out!
Egad! This fellow is indeed scary. Fabulous photo--it fills my eyes, which is the greatest compliment I can give.
And a bad complexion to boot. Metal sculpture is sure growing in popularity. They have the metal animals all over Anza Borrega, the big mastodon in Riverside, and many others I can't think of at the moment.
I guess New Hope sculptors are drawing from a different well of inspiration.
The welds on his body look like Frankenstein monster scars.
It's a very cool shot. I really like the way you change your depth of field in your photographs. It adds to the drama or the serenity. Whatever way you are going, it works!
The kind of "thing" which remains in your memory for a long while and from which you speak whenever you speak about this gallery...
Not for me, thks.
Aack! That's scary alright!
Wow - scary art. I'm glad you caught his "good" side!!! :=}
Wow - that is a doosy! One scary dude. Excellent piece of artwork. Now there is a face that quite possibly even a mother couldn't love. ;)
Great Face to share, thanks so much James!
BTW MckLinky was misbehaving this morning but is now up for you to post your link on, as I didn't see it there yet.
Thank you so much, great photo! I appreciate you participating.
Those eyes make the whole picture.
Yikes! The kind of face that gives one nightmares!
Great shot, James.
Sunny :)
It's the eyes...
Whose guarding you from the guardian? He belongs outside of an orthodontists office, ya know...look what happens when you don't get braces! lol.
oooh scary. Wouldn't want to meet him on a dark night.
super idea for face of the week, this is an awesome sculpture and your shot is crystal clear!
WOW!!!
:-)
Impressive and beautiful!
p.s.
The eyes are absolutely hypnotic... bzzzzzzz
"some people call him art" hahah! Yeah, this is disturbing, definitely. Yikes! Wow...i wouldn't want this anywhere near where i sleep! 300 pounds! how big is it? Crazy!
Oh gosh, I know that I will have nightmare this night! LOL
Impressive my friend!
Léia
Eeek!! Now this is scary...those eyes especially.
Those are evil eyes too! The artist had really conveyed its intentions as a guard "dog"!
Very impressive, the art has feelings!
His bright eyes really give life to his face. I think he's very striking - manic, even!
Wow James.. I was not prepared for this photo while scrolling through my blog feed...
Definitely face of the week. If anyone objects, send Art with his mace
He scares me for sure. Creepy!
Wow! This is really something!
I usually like rusty metal sculptures, but not this one — creepy!
