Look at the stars on the flag and you will see that the sun reflecting on the water below has multiplied them. I took this photo from The Lumberville-Raven Rock Bridge. It's a foot bridge over the Delaware river that connects Lumberville Pennsylvania to Bull's Island which is in New Jersey. So I'm not sure what state I was in when I took the picture, (New Jersey is on the left and Pennsylvania on the right.) However I did know which way the wind was blowing. :)

Hope your weekend is delightful.

Twinkling and tiny little sparkles! Nice perspective and dof!
Oh I love the twinkling stars!
What a great picture. Love the flag and also the reflections in the water.
Terrific capture as always, James! Love the flag and the water! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Bonjour dear James,
Awesome idea and stunning capture.I love your explanation about this so curious and delicate reflection, it's magnificent! I wonder where were you in this moment of the picture, your idea is so creative...well, it's normal for an artist like you! :)
Brilliant, and I also love the strong green reflected in the water!
Hugs and a blessed weekend dear friend!

Twinkle twinkle little star...Amazing stars!
Once again, great reflection shot,James.
Have a great weekend.
You've managed to capture a small galaxy of stardust sprinkled right here on earth! What could be better than that? Love the red and white stripes receding into the background. This is the most unique flag photo I've ever seen. What a great way to kick off the weekend.
Great reflection! Interesting how clearly the sup "spots" reflect through the flag.
Very magical looking James!
glory indeed!!
this is so beautiful
I can feel the wind
and the sparkles are lovely
and the green on either side is a bonus
have a glorious weekend :)
Wonderful picture , very creative and strong!
This photo commands respect and attention! What a beauty...and the sparkly star reflections are the icing on the cake!
Amazing, James! What a capture!
Wow, so unusual!
The photo is beautiful and special and gives a good feeling too.
BTW, I remember in school in Chicago we were asked to "help" design a new flag that would have 50 instead of 48 stars.
Fabulous shot! I was expecting a rather sombre comment when I first saw the flag.
Have you found another state: New Sylvania? Wouldn't be bad to have new woodland. Anyway, very clever shot. I like the little stars dancing up from the water.
Lol @ Michael!
This is amazing James.
Wow how cool to not know what state you took a picture in LOL. I don't have that problem over there ROFLMAO!!! As you say at least you knew what way the wind was blowing LOL. It's gorgeous my friend. You out did yourself with this one. Have a great Friday :)
It's not everyday that one has the opportunity to take such a picture of the Flag!
A beautiful and artful capture. Bravo!
What an awesome shot! Also happens to be where I'm about to take a dip in the river with my dogs....Jersey side! My son fishes the section for smallmouth alot to. we only live a few minutes away from the river and that is one of te nicest spots. Luckily it it just below the "wing dam" because otherwise you would of had a gazillion tubers, rafters & kayaks in the picture!
A very nice angle James. The flag pulls me into the photo...
Those are the colonies on the moon.
The Fred Effect
Beautiful. What a fantastic reflection.
What a great image James! Just wonderful.
Great catch!
Okay, we have it down that you "know which way the wind is blowing" -- too funny!
Now, that is a spectacular shot and the twinkling stars just blow me away!
Yes, JAMES.
As for the reflection, stars seem to totally shine. . .
And it gives the Star-Spangled Banner brightness.
It is really mysterious power.

That's a unique photo of the flag, James!
Great perspective and capture.
Bonsoir James, c'est une merveilleuse photo, un bel effet le drapeau qui flotte au-dessus de l'eau. Very beautiful !
Bon week-end
Superb reflectons!
An incredible photo! The reflecting stars actually seem to be glittering! And love the flag perspective! It looks like a comforting, security blanket from this angle!
A great reflection of water droplets on the flag which makes them look like jewels shining under the sun's very rays!
A piece of Americana...
A very peaceful scene - and twinkling of many stars, gorgeous.
It´s amazing!
Best regards from Argentina
Elisa
What a cool shot! At first I thought the flag was UNDER the water! I love the flag waving in the wind!
For some reason, it didn't leave a link on my last comment. Normally, the NJ/PA border is down the middle of the river, but for some strange reason, in this area, the river mostly resides in PA. Go figure.
This is so very cool but you knew that already.
love all those extra twinkling stars!!
Once again from me, James, a bit thankyou for hosting. This is a very active meme, with much cross visiting. Good fun for the weekend.
The breeze was sure blowing your flag - out nearly horizontal!!
I really like this one James.
That's an amazing shot!
the sparkle is amazingly captured... it brings magic to the stars on the flag...
Excellent ! What was it Bob Dylan said about not needing a weatherman to know which way the wind blows ?
Have a great weekend James !
The photo is absolutely stunning. The Delaware River looks endless and so beautiful! I love our flag and you have captured it so well.
Strange effect !

The shimmery light on the flag is just wonderful!
