Red Barn, White Snow and Blue Sky

No we didn't get hit with a freak September snow storm. lol, I took this picture last February.
When the weather cools down I like to pack up my camera and go for long drives exploring and finding interesting things to photograph. I saw this nice looking red barn sticking out like a sore thumb in a sea of white.

I love the contrast between the red and the white of the snow. Greetings.

Ok - you had me nervous there for a minute...snow in September. Something usually reserved for Minnesota. Glad this beautiful shot wasn't taken this morning. ;)

Great shot. That's a fancy cupola! Good thing it's warm, we're expecting several inches of rain tomorrow, imagine that in snow!!

Great shot of a picturesque setting! As warm as it has been here on the Gulf Coast (until just yesterday) I might have welcomed a little snow.

I love this! I have a picture of an old barn on my photo blog today, but it is quite different than this shot. This is so serene. Makes me want to jump ahead to Christmas!

While exploring back roads of Pennsylvania this week, am discovering just how full of beautiful red barns Pennsylvania is... amazing what is out there... This one is really lovely, and I love how the snow stuck to the sides of the trees... odd that...

A very patriotic Winter scene. :)

My first thought was 'snow already!'.

It's the kind of scene one associates with American films.

I love Tinicum. It is where I go when I just need to daydream in the beauty. I usually don't head out there in the snow though. Fall is a great time for me. Your shot is beautiful.

Now you've gone and done it. I'm just champing at the bit to make a reverse coast to coast road trip! Yesterday I talked myself into believing it was cool because it was in the low 90's!

I love the way the white striped trees lead one back welcomingly to the warm red barn. The scene is so fresh, so well composed, I can believe I am actually there.

This country has such variety!

What a marvelous capture, James! I love the red barn -- particularly lovely against the snow and that blue, blue sky! What a perfect day and the perfect shot! Thanks as always for the fun! Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh, and I meant to mention how striking the strips of snow are on each tree trunk! I've never seen anything quite like that! Amazing!

Beautiful! Robert Frost would have loved it too. That February snow was blowing in from the west.
